Everything You Need To Know About Weight Loss For Teenagers
Teenage Weight Loss Question?
Question Details: I want to lose 20 pounds. I am 130 pounds, 5′3”, and 16 years old. I am a size 8. I want to lose 20 pounds and go down to a size 4 at least. I also want to tone up my body for the winter sports season.
Does anybody have any ideas for diet and exercise? Please all suggestions welcome. Why does it come so easily for others? I hate sitting with my friends while they are all size twos and eating brownies, cookies, and chips.
Teenagers losing weight can be a dangerous thing. If your body has not fully developed you could be causing more harm than good. Depending on if you have finished growing in height determines whether or not you should try to lose weight. A Dr can tell you this. But if you eat properly and exercise your body will do the rest. Size 4 may not be your ideal size. And because clothing manufactures all vary in their idea of size, you can not judge what SIZE you really are by clothing.
If you think your body is too big in some places exercise to tone the muscles in those areas. This will burn any fat there. And don’t worry about those supposed size 2’s If they keep eating like that, they will find themselves size 12 by the time they reach adulthood.

Don't worry girl, you're not fat! I think it may have something to do with their metabolism….it's evil I know. I practice yoga and it has really helped me out a lot with my flexibility and strength. Soccer is good because it deals with running and such. Eat lots of healthy foods: Grains, fruits, veggie. I know it's old fashioned but it works! I promise. Let's see, bananas are an excellent fruit. Lots of potassium very good for you. Good Luck girl!

Exorcise is will help you to tone your body up, but to lose weight its going to have to be healthy eating, if you cut out all the things you drink and replace it with water thats will help, also try not to eat after 8 pm.
rememeber for every 500 calories you dont eat in one day thats one pound you will lose in a week.

wow. I just lost twenty pounds over the summer. I'm the same age as you. I have no idea how it happened though but it's scary. I'm only 105 pounds now. my parents are worried. I eat normally and don't exercise much. I'm a size zero now. it's not worth it to lose so much weight. You should love the way you look. It's also not healthy to lose so much weight so fast…

Some people just have a higher metabolism than others. You should start by eating a healthy breakfast within the first hour or so that you wake up. Also try to eat a little bit every 4 hours to keep your metabolism up. Don't eat huge meals a couple times a day. Try to eat smaller meals more often. If your school has a gym you should try going a few times a week. Even just walking on a treadmill or ride the bicycle will get your cardio up, the other machines work great also to tone up muscles
