<p><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Weight loss for teenagers</span></strong> is fast becoming the number one priority in todays society as teenage obesity levels become a &#8216;growing&#8217; menace! One reason behind this is that it&#8217;s very difficult to handle and control the lifestyle habits of teenagers. Teenagers always try to live life on their own terms since they believe that they are mature enough to take all the important decisions of their lives. Still, there are a number of ways you can make sure that your teenager is always fit, slim and healthy.</p>
<p><strong>Have you ever taught the difference of healthy and unhealthy foods to your kids?</strong> Have you ever taught your kids how to identity those types of foods or ever offered them home cooked meals? Have you ever prevented them from eating junk foods or watching television for hours?  If your answer to all these questions is &#8220;no&#8221;, I&#8217;m sorry to say that you have not really been a good parent.</p>
<p><strong>Most parents make their kids eat junk foods</strong> because they are not only a cheaper alternative to home cooked meals but also to save them time. Most parents would prefer watching television or gossiping rather than making home cooked meals.  If a child is not made to taste healthy foods right from a very young age or is never taught to identify good and bad foods, it is only natural that they will continue with the unhealthy habits of their childhood right into adolescence and beyond!</p>
<p>If one has never eaten anything except junk foods as a child, it is not unnatural that they would develop a certain kind of distaste towards organic foods as they get older. These unhealthy eating habits are one of the primary reasons behind teenage obesity. Changing a teenager&#8217;s eating habit is a lot harder than changing the food habits of a younger child. The only way you can change your kid&#8217;s eating habit is by changing YOUR food choices first. When you become proactive at weight loss and fitness, your teenagers would follow suit! What you should be eating is something I will discuss at the end of this article.</p>
<p>Another reason behind obesity is the influence of television. <strong>Television not only makes a teenager idle but also influences their mind with those attractive ads on junk and fatty foods.</strong> As a parent, it&#8217;s your responsibility to make sure that your kids don&#8217;t watch television for a long time period. You should always encourage them to indulge in outdoor sports or at least take a walk outside.</p>
<p>As a parent, <strong>you should also not allow your kids to buy junk foods nor bring them home yourself.</strong> You as the parent should always set the example. When junk foods are available at the end of your street, neither you nor your kids would be able to resist the temptation but for goodness&#8217; sake, it is best to just ignore this temptation and look for a healthy alternative instead.  Your kitchen and refrigerator should always be stocked with organic and healthy foods; that way, you can make sure the whole family eats them more often than junk alternatives.</p>
<p><strong>Eating organic foods is one of the best ways to keep your calorie consumption low.</strong> This, together with a little physical activity, would do you and your adolescent kids the world of good!  Remember that as parents, we have the choice to teach healthy or unhealthy lifestyle habits to our children. However, you need to teach your kids, especially teenagers, through action instead of words. When you start losing weight as a result of following a healthy lifestyle, your kids will do the same. This is really a great way to fight teenage obesity!</p>

<p>a healthy life style should definately help. don&#8217;t freak about it  just yet.  the most important thing to stay away from is caffine.  14  years old, dont be so worried&#8230;just maintain a healthy life.</p>

I don&#8217;t know any sites. I suggest doing some exercises that get the legs moving, such as walking, jogging, running, swimming or bike riding. These exercises that really get your heart pumping will burn the weight off quickly.</p>
<p>I like push ups, yoga stretches, pull ups, crunches, curl ups, leg stretches, calf raises, and squats as far as being good toning exercises that use no equipment and cost zero money to perform.  I like taking some dumbbells and doing some easy bicep curls, military presses, and lateral raises.  I think diet is important also and try to eat healthy home-cooked meals with lots of vegetables in them.  I try to stay away from the pop and sugar, candy, white flour products, and fast food.  I try to get a good night&#8217;s sleep each night.</p>

<p>That is too much weight to lose in such a short time.  Don&#8217;t reduce your calorie intake below about 1500. You body will start to shut down as a famine response.</p>
<p>You should focus on looking better. You can do that with exercises.  Start off slow and add more each day.  You might not not lose the weight, but you will look better. Muscles weigh more then fat, so weight is not a good measurement.  You should be more worried about body mass index (BMI).</p>
<p>A benefit of having more muscle mass is muscles burn more calories then fat.</p>

<p>also what are some methods to relieve temptation and you know that hunger that isn&#8217;t rlly hunger.. its boredom or depression (well its boredom w/ me i hardly eat when im depressed) if you want to recommend late night snacks that are low cal and low or no fat that be great and another thing i did have a high cholesterol but i lowered it and my &#8220;bad&#8221; cholesterol is fine but my doc says i need more &#8220;good&#8221; cholesterol&#8230; what foods help higher your &#8220;good&#8221; cholesterol?  sorry about so many questions.. but plz answer what you can!!</p>
<p><strong>Your question is very interesting</strong>, and sollution is easier.  no pills, drugs surgery, gym or costly diets and therapy will do lasting effect.  There is no Gain without Pain  Yet I suggest a simple home exercise without Tears.  You need consistent, committed and concentrated Mind and Heart.  I suggest a simple exercise for you to do. that exercise is in four parts and can be done at home. It  will solve your problem but you need to do it the way it is given.  there are Three Levels of  exercise, primary, secondary and final. Each level is of four parts.</p>
<p><strong>First part is to  do on the spot jogging,  second part is sitting  third part is eyes rolling fourth part is relaxing.</strong> exercise is not needing any special gadgets or special room  You need to have relaxed clothing. ambient temparature of room not too airy, not to hot not too cool  time to do at empty stomach , preferably in morning, but you set your time. place : at home  Primary level:  first stage : Jog, spot jogging, raise your knees to your stomach level.</p>
<p>Initially you may be be slow , but increase speed. be fast , , throw out your breathe from your mouth, with equal speed so that you do not tire and pant up. you will perspire , but keep a towel handy to wipe it. Do spot jogging for five minutes.</p>
<p><strong>Second stage :</strong> sit down. with crossed legs, put both hands on side of waist, keep your spine straight, lower your head, allow your chin to touch the pit of collar bone, keep mouth wide open.  Now let your spine bend from waist towards right knee and forehead touch the knee. keeping waist and uper body bent , move your head towards left. allow as much bending , touching your nose to ground.go to left knee. and straighten the spine coming back to normal pose. again go to right and coming to left ,straighten Thus cotinue for another five minutes.</p>
<p><strong>Third stage:</strong> Lie down on ground spreading legs and hands as if in shabasan. keep both hands by side of waist. keep eyes open. facing ceiling. imagine a stadium size clock on ceiling and hands are moving fast. your eyes too should run along the hands of clock. on boundary. see that your head is not moving. with it. whole body be rested relaxedly. let eyes make cicular motion. do it for five minutes. without slowing down.  fourth stage.:stop everything. close eyes , relax feel the pleasant sensations of blood circulating , perspirations, and body resting.rest for five minutes.   Do this Primary level for four weeks,</p>
<p><strong>Secondary level is of 10 minutes each stage, same process. no change.</strong> You know better now how to speed up and go on consistently doing it.  Final level. : is of 15 minuts each stage. same process. no change. You know better now how to speed up and go on consistently doing it.  PRECAUTIONS TO TAKE  Avoid airy fans coolers after you finish exercise. avoid taking bath immediately after exercise. if you feel pain in your muscles, take a hot water bath. avoid curd, cold drinks, banana, ice creams , as these are cough generating items , and you may get a cold or cough. avoid fried and pastry and meat, eat fruits, boiled food,  keep weight watch diary daily,  have your own photo of day when you start your exercise, pasted on the mirror of your bathroom or bed room and after every stage go for another photo , which will be different from previous.</p>
<p>So coming to the final after three months, you will notice a considerable change of weight, and then you continue on for another six months, the final stage set of exercise.  do not miss or overdo any of the routines ,  there is no shortcut to success, and there is no miracle methods too. <strong>Slow and steady ALWAYS wins.</strong> I wish you the best of luck!</p>

<br />The Anshar Diet</p>
<p>As an American I&#39;ve seen enough crazy fad diets in my day to fill several weeks full of infomercials and advertisements. As such I&#39;m going to give you the benefit of many years of health and nutrition classes and do my good deed for the year.</p>
<p>I&#39;m going to tell you how to not only lose weight but change the composition of your body, increase your health, and best of all.. keep it off.</p>
<p>First, let&#39;s dispel some common myths.</p>
<p>Myth 1:<br />
Eating less calories will make me lose weight.<br />
Unfortunately this isn&#39;t always true. A lot of different factors program your metabolism but one of the key things is how OFTEN you eat. If you fast all day long and then have a 500 calorie meal at the end of the day almost ALL of it will be stored by your body.</p>
<p>Myth 2:<br />
I can have a diet with no carbs and be healthy.<br />
This really is a testament to how much Americans want a quick fix. Diets like the Atkin&#39;s Diet cause your body to start devouring itself, increase your cholesterol, and in certain cases can even kill you. One thing I WON&#39;T argue, death will indeed cause you to lose weight, permanently.</p>
<p>Myth 3:<br />
If I go on a diet I will lose weight.<br />
99% of people who go on diets will end up putting on MORE weight than they lost from a diet. This is because diet is supposed to be a LIFESTYLE change, not something you do for 2 weeks. If you starve your body it will make fat cells and increase their size even faster.</p>
<p>Myth 4:<br />
I need to go out and exercise to lose weight.<br />
This isn&#39;t actually true but it&#39;s important to say that having daily activities WILL keep you healthy. If you burn almost no calories every day what else do you think your body is going to do with them? Balancing a healthy lifestyle with a good diet is what you want here, not killing yourself by running every afternoon.</p>
<p>Myth 5:<br />
The scale in my bathroom gives me a good idea of how healthy I am.<br />
The dreaded bathroom scale does NOT tell you how healthy you are. Let&#39;s say I have 10 lbs of fat, don&#39;t drink water, and have little muscle mass. Then I work out for 3 months and hydrate every day. I lose 5 lbs of fat but gain 7 lbs of muscle and 3 pounds of average water weight. What will happen when I look at the scale? Are you being fair to yourselves? Judge yourself by how you feel, not what a spinning number under your feet tells you.</p>
<p>With these common myths out of the way I&#39;ll tell you the secret. It&#39;s five simple steps.</p>
<p>~~The Anshar Diet~~<br />
1. Only eat until you are no longer hungry.<br />
This does NOT mean that you starve yourself. It means after you take a few bites of food ask yourself if you&#39;re still hungry. If you&#39;re not, into the fridge it goes. While we&#39;re at it, CHEW YOUR FOOD. at least 10 times per bite (using common sense if you&#39;re eating applesauce, this isn&#39;t an excuse to be an idiot).</p>
<p>2. Eat at least 6 (more if your schedule allows) meals a day.<br />
I know this seems counterintuitive, but hear me out. If you eat 6-8 meals a day the meals are very small (often around 100-200 calorie &quot;snacks&quot;), provided you are only eating until you are NOT HUNGRY. When your body is not hungry your metabolism will not try to store energy as fat. It really is that simple. Smaller meals aid in digestion, they increase the nutrition you get from your food, and they keep you from being lethargic. If you eat when you&#39;re hungry your body stores MORE of it as fat (&quot;Hmm. I&#39;m hungry, I don&#39;t know where my next meal will come from! I&#39;d better hold onto this.&quot;)</p>
<p>3. Eat BEFORE you get hungry.<br />
Schedule your 6-10 meals throughout the day and stick to them. If you&#39;re waiting until you get hungry to eat you&#39;ve already screwed this up. Your body stores energy if you&#39;re hungry, if your body sees food and just takes what it needs then you&#39;re running at optimum efficiency. This is called programming your metabolism.</p>
<p>4. Eat breakfast. Always.<br />
Your first meal of the day is also the meal you have no choice over being hungry for. Your body has been replenishing itself all night and needs fuel. Since now you KNOW that hunger means you store your food then that means you want to keep breakfast LIGHT. A cup of cereal and a banana. A granola bar and an apple. LIGHT does NOT mean you skip breakfast. If you skip breakfast you are telling your metabolism to turn ALL of the next meal you eat into stored fat.</p>
<p>5. Drink water.<br />
(I&#39;m a big hypocrite on this one, but I can&#39;t stress it enough) Most people think that if they pick up a glass of orange juice instead of a soda they&#39;re doing themselves a favor, and that&#39;s not entirely true. A glass of orange juice can have just as many calories as some sodas. Try looking at the label sometime. If you&#39;re thirsty, drink water. If you love your soda then have your soda (real soda, not diet, artificial sweetners have been argued to be one of the worst things to ever happen to western civilization). If you decide to have a drink to treat yourself, pour yourself a half glass, don&#39;t take a can or bottle with you and for go</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I want to lose some weight. I am 13 and I really want to lose like 10 pounds. I am not that active so I know if I just get outside and run around it will help. But how do I like get abs and stuff? And like get rid of extra fat?<br />
<br />Well the obvious would be to exercise and eat healthy, which I really do recommend. The more muscle you have, the faster your metabolism and the more calories you burn by even doing nothing! Go out for a jog, do some crunches, but make sure you keep it consistent. Set a specific and realistic goal or yourself. Also, make an effort to eat more fruits and vegetables and cut out extra fats and sugars. I promise you this is the most effective way. Plus, by having a healthy routine now, you are more likely to have a great body when you are older!</p>
<p>And please, don&#39;t go on a diet/starve yourself hun!<br />
It won&#39;t work.<br />
